Part II

He must have stolen it. He couldn't figure out why her consciousness was arranged there in front of him, but that was the only explanation he could dream up. Through the window he watched her search her house for it and his heart jumped as she moved for the door. He never stole anything before but something came over him and he wanted to latch into thoughts that lightened his own. Through a crack in the fabric of existence, he tiptoed into her being.
Now she was outside, unmistakably looking for something lost. He knew where she kept her secrets and used this knowledge to enter her soul. A glance to the sky and the look in her eyes showed him that she was wondering who the intruder could be and what caused her to let him in.
